Winsor and Newton is a top artist's supplies manufacturer that has supplied brushes that are beautifully suited to an artist's needs for the last 160 years, with evenly and crisply shaped tufts, smoothly finished ferrules, and well balanced handles. These W&N bushes come in a variety of styles and qualities for different media, but all of these brushes hold their chisel edges and points for beautiful blending and detail. Flat bushes are mostly used for moving large swathes of color or for working in certain types of impressionist work.   Cotman is a good quality brush intended for students.  Regency Gold series brushes are best used for decorative painting, oil and acrylic work, but can also be used for watercolor. The synthetic fiber used in the Regency Gold series is Gold Taklon, which simulates the feel and handling of sable.  Galleria brushes are intended primarily for acrylic work.
