LYPTUSŪ Premium Hardwoods From Eco-Friendly Forests
STRIKING A BALANCE between human demands and environmental concerns is becoming increasingly important. While nature has been bountiful, we must also recognize its limitations. This is especially true with forest products, ever popular because of their unique contribution to an enhanced standard of living.
The LYPTUSŪ Difference
Lyptus is processed using best-of-class technology, assuring a top-quality product. Ambitious development programs have resulted in wood characteristics considered most desirable by discriminating industrial customers. These include exceptional workability, machining properties, density, finish tolerance and overall strength.
Quality That Starts in the Forest
Only the best LyptusŪ seedlings are destined to become marketable lumber. Specially selected nursery plants are given new homes in the forests, and then patiently nurtured and pruned. When a LyptusŪ tree has matured enough to produce long lengths of clear wood, it is carefully harvested and processed.
Ultra-Modern Processing Technology
LyptusŪ is produced in a state-of-the-art sawmill. With a production capacity of 32 million board feet every year, the mill also features cutting-edge drying capabilities and extra-large-diameter saws. Sophisticated 50-compartment sorters perform first-stage classification. Then wood is kiln-dried, planed and dressed on both faces for consistency and dimensional stability.
Currently available in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4 thicknesses, with other thicknesses to follow
Bundle sizes ensure proper forklift handling
Protected by water-resistant packaging
Uniform moisture content of 6 to 8 percent
LyptusŪ is manufactured by Aracruz Wood Products in the state of Bahia, Brazil, and distributed in North America through a strategic alliance with Weyerhaeuser. For three decades Aracruz has been a global leader in sustainable forestry, and currently invests more than $5 million every year in research and development. It maintains its own nurseries and seed banks, and has permanent monitoring in place to ensure optimal soil conditions, water quality and ongoing biodiversity. Aracruz was honored with the Marcus Wallenberg Prize from the international scientific community for advancements in the field of forestry.
