War Video (DVD) is a documentary video on World War I, World War II and post-war Europe. War Video (DVD) consists of three parts. Part one of the video covers anxiety and anguish experienced in World War I as seen through the eyes of Max Beckman’s Carnival, Bird of Sir William Orpen’s famous Zonnebeke, and the bird of Henri Gaudier-Brzeska Swallowing a Fish.
Part two of the documentary film echoes on the anguish and fear of World War II with Francis Bacon’s triptych (3 Studies for Figures) at the base of a Crucifixion, and Salvador Dali’s Mountain Lake.
Part three of this film documentary about post-war Europe highlights the doubts and deep-seated grief of post-war Europe through the eyes of Alberto Giacometti’s Standing Woman, Jean Fautrier’s Large Tragic Head, and Hannah Collins’ in the Course of Time II, which is a cold recap of the Holocaust.
