The Saatchi Gallery: Highlights of British Conceptual Art Video (DVD)
Product Description:
This video is more than just a video catalog of some works of art. In this video, you will see almost 100 pieces of art that are in London as a part of the Charles Saatchi collection. Several artists are interviewed in this film and they are all candid when it comes to sharing their processes and goals. From a shark preserved in formaldehyde by Damien Hirst to contemplative abstractions by Gary Hume, there are quite a few social and artistic concerns that are brought to the forefront. Dino and Jake Chapman also have some of their pieces highlighted and these particular pieces are not only bizarre, they are also some of the more challenging pieces in the video. You will also see some sexually suggestive sculptures using food by Sarah Lucas and provocative fabric installations by Tracy Emin. Please note that this film does contain some explicit imagery and language as well as theme that are mature. This video is 53 minutes in length. Art and Photography, The Arts 2004.
