The Candid Image: A Portrait of Erich Salomon Video (DVD)

The photographs that came from Erich Salomon are striking images that were of hidden scenes that few have ever photographed. With many of his images, he had hidden his camera and took it out to photograph important events that few would get to witness. The sentencing of two murderers was one famous forbidden photograph of Salomon's. The photographer took the hidden camera from his hat to take it. From a hidden view inside a bathroom, he took a photo of Von Hindenburg. A photograph of a Toscanini performing was taken after the photographer took his hidden camera from inside a music stand. The story of the gutsy photographer and his famous photos are chronicled in this 50-minute film, as is his tragic death in Auschwitz.
