Since the sound era, filmmakers have used the new media of film to tell stories for the entertainment audiences all over the world. In those early days, the processing for editing film and incorporating sound into films was a slow and often tedious process. Nowadays, filmmakers use computers and video and sound editing software to take the medium of film to a whole new and exciting level. With special visual and sound effects, filmmakers can bring to life any world imaginable. This 26-minute film, part of the "21st Century Bard: The Making of Twelfth Night" series, gives the viewer behind-the-scenes look into the filmmaking process as each member of the crew: film editors, sound designers and mixers, digital visuals effects, etc. explain their roles in setting the film's pacing, mood and overall rhythm.
