Double ended paper stumps are a staple for your dry-media art. Stumps are made of compressed rice paper and pointed on each end. Use them to smooth and blend graphite, pastels, charcoal, and even colored pencils easily and cleanly, creating subtle transitions between dark and light and adding additional texture and interest. Prevent damage to your work caused by the natural oils on your skin by using a double ended stump instead of your fingers to blend and smooth. Double ended stumps are inexpensive and disposable. Once the ends become blunt or dirty, you can either dispose of the stump or use a sandpaper block to clean, sharpen, and smooth the ends, prolonging use.
