Photography: Making Art and Recording Life Video (DVD)
Product Description:
The art of taking photos and recording a scene has changed in more than just the technology used to take the photos. It has changed in the meaning of photos and their use. In this 27-minute film, the history of photography is traced from its roots as a basic tool for recording scenes of life to its current range of uses. Rather than simply a tool for documentation, the camera is now used to create art as well as to record the news and as a media tool for commerce. A former ad agency creative director comments on the usage of photography through the ages and presents the range of ways that it is used today as well as the new genres of photography that are still emerging. Photographers are also interviewed about their craft in this 2001 video.
