Product Description:
Paolo Uccello was an Italian painter and mathematician born in 1397 (died in 1475). Uccello was one of the major pioneers of linear perspective, a defining characteristic of Italian Renaissance artistic innovation, and documented by Giorgio Vasari in his seminal book, Lives of Artists. In addition to his scientific efforts, he was a passionate artist best known for battle scenes such as The Battle of San Romano. This film explores the meaning of this Early Renaissance triptych (three paneled panting) as both a document of war and as a breakthrough in three dimensional artistic rendering. A must watch for art lovers!
