Product Description:
Amaco’s HF-101 is a medium capacity top-loading kiln that fires to Cone 10. This unit is excellent for a wide-variety of projects including overglazing, firing stoneware and high-temperature porcelain firing.
The medium-sized kiln is great for classrooms or studios. The 5.06 cubic foot chamber is surrounded by 4.5 inches of insulation. It fires with a low radiant temperature and is very efficient. These factors make the HF-101 very safe for school use. The unit uses a 220/240v AC power source.
With 1/8 inches of welded steel frames in the rear, 11-gauge welded steel in the front and 18-gauge steel shells all over, the HF-101 is unrivaled in durability.
The lid is spring-loaded, refractory backed and rests on top ceramic fiber rope around the opening. This creates a strong seal that reduces heat loss when firing.
The heating elements are made from the best quality Kanthal 14 gauge wire and sit within sunken grooves within the walls of the firing chamber. They can be removed easily.
The Select FireTM controller and the Kiln-Sitter with Limit Timer plus Pyrometer are the controller options available.
