Product Description:
Maverick
by
MacKinnon - as featured in Stylus and Pen World.
The Maverick pen is the second in a range of limited edition writing instruments by MacKinnon pens.
The design of this latest collection is a collaboration between exciting new pen designer, architect Mark Mitchell of Michigan USA and David MacKinnon.
The synthesis of this collaboration is a bold, distinctive modern pen design with uncompromising quality. The unique form and bold colours for this collection are inspired, in part, by the artisans of Italian Murano glass whose works of art are world renowned.
The collection is crafted in marbleized acrylic (red, orange, blue and dark green). It is available in rollerball and fountain pen and
will be limited to 200 pieces of each type.
(Subject to availability.)
All appointments are made of .925 sterling silver and finish in vermeil or rhodium. Mackinnon Pens uses modern techniques along side traditional skills, and only employs the skills of apprentice served craftsmen and women to work on its pens thereby creating pieces of outstanding quality.
The clip has a distinct style being hallmarked in London. The marking of this component is to guarantee that the precious metals used in this pen have been tested. The Goldsmiths’ Company has carried this out since 1300A.D. The process is known today as hallmarking, which originally meant 'marked at Goldsmiths' Hall'. The techniques of sample testing (assaying) of the precious metal content (fineness) and marking have altered over the centuries, but the principle of providing a guarantee for manufacturers, importers, retailers, and the eventual purchaser, remains the same. It is one of the oldest forms of consumer protection.
