Liquitex Heavy Body acrylic paint in Ultramarine Blue is creamy and thick with a satin finish. Its pigment load is excellent. The 'Heavy Body' paint, formerly titled 'Heavy Viscosity' but renamed to describe its working property in celebration of Liquitex's 50th Anniversary, retains peaks and brush strokes. It is an ideal medium for learning color theory and the art of color mixing: it conforms to ASTM D4236, making it safe for educational use, and it is intermixeable with other Liquitex Acrylic Paint Colors and Mediums. Remember that acrylic paints dry darker, as opposed to watercolors, which dry lighter. However, do not add water to our rich Ultramarine Blue to lighten the shade, because the paint's flow will also be changed. To change paint flow, use a Liquitex medium to keep the depth of the shade; to lighten the paint without disturbing paint flow, mix with another shade of Liquitex.
