Instructors wishing to use hard wood desks use light woods, such as birch and maple. Desks made from maple keep company with bowling alley floors, tool handles, butcher block tables, and pianos. Maple is used for hardy furniture such as workbenches and the Diversified Woodcrafts Instructor's Desk - 72".
Birch veneer covers the maple framing of the instructor's desk. Birch is a stable and hard wood, used in guitars and furniture. A lovely but durable almond plastic laminate top completes the wood of the desk.
Instructors will use two small drawers atop a large file drawer, in addition to a large space with adjustable shelf opposite them. The instructor's computer keyboard will rest on a pull-out tray, and her/his computer cables will be organized inside a dedicated grommet. Adjustable arms hold the monitor. The size of the desk is 72" x 30" x 30".
