Jack Richeson built an Art school and business with his passion for art, family and community in mind. Manufacturing tools for the art trade and opening a school to teach it caused an affect in Appleton, interest in art grew. Richeson opened a gallery to quench that interest sharing new unknown artists with local schools. In business he also hears the needs of others by listening to artists, teachers and students identifying a desire for non-reflective brushes. Glare from brushes in Plein Air or intense artificial light can trick the eye and change the way colors appear. The same concerns can cause brush glare to strain eyes making painters miss important details. Jack Richeson now makes the Grey Matters Brushes with non-reflective ferrule (handle and bristles), interlocking construction maintains brush structure longer than others, these brushes are available for oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints.
