As an unknown painter in 1886 Georges Seurat debuted a painting that completely disregarded traditional painting methods and instead used small dots to create shape, color, and form. From that day on his pointillism style grew in recognition. This DVD focuses on analyzing the particular Georges Seurat's painting: "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte". This work, showing people and dogs languidly lounging or walking on an island during the afternoon, is an excellent example of his pointillism method.
