Georges Seurat Video (DVD)- French
Product Description:
George Seurat was not just a painter but very interested in how to create the perfect color purple or orange. This led to his style of painting known as pointillism. He would place a small amount of blue next to red so that when the observer looked at the painting it would appear to be a perfect shade of purple. His use of these small dots created a new form of light within the paintings. This manner of painting, pointillism along with his daring technical drawing and lack of that time period's acceptable convention all combined to create much gossip, and stir in 1886 France. This video delves into specific key elements examining them for both structure and composition.
