This program is entirely devoted to determining which essentials are required in order for any instrument to be able to produce a musical sound that is usable. You will come to learn that the essential requirement is that the instrument needs to produce a pressure change with regularity. This could be by hollow vessels such as bells, plates that are flat, strings that have been stretched tightly, vibration of the air in pipes, a rotation (such as the wheel in a siren), or a wobble or vibration. The video also takes a closer look at how you can use energy in order to produce a note that is continuous, how various sounds can be made louder, how the quality of the sound can be altered by amplifying it, as well as the consequences that occur when music is made by computers or synthesizers.
