Dutch Art in Its Own Environment Video (DVD)

The countryside of Holland is well known to fans of Van Gogh, but there are many other places in Holland that have inspired great works of art. Rembrandt's landscapes revealed the natural beauty of the wild areas near Amsterdam. Mondrian's depiction of the coast showed another take on the Dutch landscape. From its cafes to its hay stacks, Holland has inspired many of the great works that are revered the world over. In this 25-minute film, students can explore the country of Holland as it was seen by some of the great masters of art. As it brings the Holland of the masters to life, students will get a new perspective on the works they study. The film is available on both VHS and DVD.
