AMACO Brent ie-x Potter's Wheel

The ie-x pottery wheel is part of AMACO’s Green Series of Brent pottery tools and is made of 100% recycled materials. The tabletop is made from a durable bio-composite of reclaimed organic fiber and a recycled thermoplastic material, creating a sturdy unit that’s resistant to moisture and corrosion. This fiber is completely organic and comes naturally from wood remaining after forest harvesting, thus reducing the further devastation of the ecosystem.
The wheel can handle up to 100 pounds perpetually due in part to the solid steel construction of the unit’s frame and legs. The legs on the ie-x have a powder coating for durability and stain and corrosion resistance. You can adjust the height of the legs five inches (from 20” to 25”) and use the wheel on the floor or remove the legs completely to use the wheel on a tabletop. The legs when extended can be used with any other Brent wheel accessories.
The ie-x’s .33 horsepower, 6-amp DC motor, also affect the wheel’s capabilities. The permanent magnet motor has a poly-v drive belt with 4 grooves, and it stays tight when the wheel is rotating. The aluminum cast 14 inch wheel head has concentric circles and two bat pins are included. The motor provides the unit with speeds up to 240 rpm and is powered by a 9 foot cord so you can easily reach a power source whether you’re using it on a table or on the floor.
The ie-x’s controls are easy to reach and the directional switch has a neutral position for free wheeling movement in forward or backwards.
The foot pedal is cast in durable aluminum and enables smooth control of the wheel.
