This powerful, pure yellow was a palette essential for Claude Monet to capture the lustrous effects of light on objects. Warmer than Cadmium Lemon, this bright, opaque paint is ideal for adding life to landscapes. Use traditional oil painting techniques and styles to capture a range of subtle colors and textures. Straight from the tube or mixed on canvas, Cadmium Yellow Light mixes well, even with other opaque paints. Use it to paint thin layers over dried darker colors (scumbling) and create rich, buttery textures for a satin finish. This paint is NOT recommended for mural or fresco painting as sunlight can cause Cadmium colors to fade.
