World renowned investigative psychologist David Canter is the leading pioneer in criminal profiling in the United Kingdom. He is the director of the Centre for Investigative Psychology at the University of Liverpool. In this program, Canter analyzes some of the most famous crimes on record in the U.K. and throughout the world. He combines technology, geography and psychology to examine some modern crimes as well as a number of historical crimes.
Canter began his career as an architectural psychologist who studied the interaction between people and the buildings they frequent. He published designs on schools, prisons, housing, and building forms and he also explored who people made sense of their environment. From there he began working on studying human reactions in emergencies and fires, and also began helping police solve various crimes including the Railway Rapist case and many others.
