This Space Available: Outdoor Advertising and the Fight Against Visual Pollution (Enhanced DVD)

Visual pollution is a modern problem that turns public spaces into public eyesores, and the rampant commercialism of our culture is one of its driving forces.  What can be done about it?  That is just one of the questions this film asks.  This video examines the fight against visual pollution from a grassroots-movement perspective, a movement that crosses class boundaries to encompass politicians, business leaders, artists, and everyday people.  It also looks at the economics which promote visual pollution through invasive public advertising, and the differences between the marketing tactics of this generation and the last.
