In 2011, Egypt experienced a transformation that swept the Middle East. Thousands of Egyptians began the protests that ignited the Arab Spring. The tyrannical rule of Dictator Hosni Mubarak had long oppressed the lives of ordinary Egyptians. Every day the Egyptian people lived in state of fear. This continued until they decided to fight back. Because of this, Hosni Mubarak was ousted as dictator and a democratic government was established. This meant that the people were finally able to chart their own course with leaders of their choosing. This program will chronicle the lives of 3 activists who were involved in the protests and give the viewer a glimpse into the movement that saw Egypt turn into a democracy.
