The practice of kidnapping children off the streets and from their homes and then selling them on the black market is big business in China. It is estimated that every year over 20,000 infants and children are stolen from their families and caretakers. In most of the cases, the birth parents do not have the connections nor the resources needed to fund the searches necessary to find their missing children. Additionally, in many of the cases police investigations last for years and most cases go cold and are never solved.
The DVD China's Stolen Children focuses on the heartbreaking story of two young girls who were victims of this horrifying trend. First is 3-year-old Wamping, who was recently kidnapped and taken away from her family and then there is Dai, who was kidnapped at 10 and now 22 years later, has found her birth family. Will Wamping ever be found and reunited with her family? And how do the "purchasing parents" why buy these stolen children justify being a party to abduction? Find out all this and more in the eye opening DVD documentary!
