Somalia is considered a "failed state," in the sense that there currently exists no central government. With the lack of any central governing force, the county has existed in a state of violent anarchy since the early 1990s. The documentary, Somalia: Road Warriors follows a documentary team into what is known as "Bermuda," an area of Southern Mogadishu (so named because those who come in never come out). The film aims to inform the viewer about what the Islamic court system is doing to restore some kind of order to the streets of Mogadishu. The documentary teams joins a young militia group in the hopes of giving the outside world some kind of understanding of life inside a failed state, as well as the increasing growth of Sharia law across Somalia.
