The alluring residence of Hollywood celebrities Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford- Pickfair aroused the attention of British Business man Walter Price so much that he resolved to create his own luxurious mansion in the Devon countryside which came to be known as Casa del Rio. Casa del Rio is a popular Art Deco fantasy house which is located in Devon. In this video, he uncovers the interesting story about Walter Price, who was by profession a baker. Walter visits California, in 1930’S and is truly impressed by the glamorous homes of some famous Hollywood starts like Mary Pickford and Fairbanks. This was when he decided to have his own mansion on this beautiful Devon Countryside. The marble staircase of his home looked like the keyboard of a piano. The luxurious residence of Price has also fascinating Art Deco gadgets like Bakelite radios and toasters which were groundbreaking innovations at that time. Casa del Rio also expanded its expansion and a bar; pool room and cinema were included after some time. This program explores the house completely which was thought to be a smart and glamorous weekend retreat for the renowned Prince and his family members. The Pickfair Mansion was no longer in existence which helped Casa del Rio to emerge as a sole representative fantasy house showing England’s glorious Art Deco era. The original building was actually demolished.
