Of Dolls and Murder is an exploration of a select group of dollhouse crime scenes and humanity’s fascination with murder. This is a documentary film that explores the dolls, the women who made them, and how they relate to modern forensics. Crime aficionado and legendary filmmaker John Waters narrates the documentary which includes a crime fighting grandmother, the well-known CSI television show, and criminally minded college students. Training in Forensics: Police who are in training are given example murder cases which are based on real cases, using dollhouses.
Murder Scene: A newborn baby and a couple are dead in a model murder scene based on a 1937 murder. Police who are undergoing training document blood puddles and a slightly open window.
Francis Glessner Lee: Francis Glessner is an heirness who learned about inefficiencies with murder investigations. She creates miniature models for murder scenes and has funded medical training for the police.
