This program shows how weather conditions are different throughout the world. It also goes into detail about how animal and human life is impacted by the weather. The program starts off in Canada where biologists study the effect of global warming on the bear population. In the next part of the video, a popular ski resort in the Austrian Alps is shown in the winter and the summer.
Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, and on this island a warm climate creates a heavy rainfall. This is in stark contrast to the climate on Mount Sinai in Egypt which has cold temperatures in a dry region. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is also covered in the program which is located in the rain forest of central Uganda, an area that is very biodiverse. (15 minutes)

    Segments in this video include:
  • The Arctic – The Arctic is totally covered in snow at least 9 months out of the year. This part of the world is the furthest from the equator, which makes it the coldest climate. The ice cap continues to shrink as the world gets warmer.
  • The Alps – The Alps has seasonal weather and the high mountains attract many skiers and snowboarders.
  • Fraser Island, Southern Hemisphere – The island gets rainfall and has a warm January. The climate on the island is comparable to a Mediterranean climate. The local wildlife is threatened by tourism.
  • Tropical Rainforest – Rainforests are some of the wettest and hottest climates in the world. They also have some of the most beautiful plants and animals and they have a wide range of biodiversity. Mountain gorillas have been killed by people, and there are only 700 of them remaining in the region shown.
