Chihuly: Fire and Light (Enhanced DVD)

Dale Chihuly is the famous American glass sculptor and a popular entrepreneur. His works have a certain uniqueness. Quite difficult to technically work with different glass forms, Chihuly, skillfully uses glass as the main medium of all his environmental art work and various installations. Dale is extremely talented and has dominated his in his field for several years. The artist has aesthetically maximized the use of light in his various creations.
The renowned Glass sculptor Dale Chihuly’s extraordinary creations are members of a large number of museum assemblages. This program features Chihuly and gives a glimpse of his working style as he works with his studio group to create pieces for a splendid installation at San Francisco’s de Young Museum. The video explores and offers an in depth analysis of the process and design of mounting in a grand scale exhibition. It is about the depth and complexities involved with forty year investigation with his preferred medium –glass.
The program investigates the methodology of the artist’s creation and all about his response to outdoor and indoor space. Chihuly put in a lot of hard work and his hard work shone immensely. He completed the project in two years and a half but the hard work has been rewarded well. Rushes of the exhibition enables the readers to examine closely the Saffron Tower, Mille Fiori, Glass Forest and other integral works. Contrary to the belief, his pieces of art are not fragile and can be easily installed in any outdoor setting and in any type of building, without fear of any damage.
