Kathryn gets a good look at the fields of journalism and teaching with the help of a life coach and a career specialist. She has considered working in both professions. She finds that she has a good instinct for reporting. She works at a local paper for one day. She also tries working as a substitute teacher with bored teens, and is not discouraged by the experience. She finds that she has talent for both professions, and she decides that she will major in English and write for the university’s paper, which will give her an opportunity to work in both fields.
