Narrated by Alberto Manguel, the author of the History of Reading, this four-part DVD collection, delves into the literary world. Manguel is a great supporter of the written word. In this DVD, he will explore every aspect as well as point of view of the written word. Included in the DVD is a look at literacy itself, reading, and the satisfaction that comes from it. Manguel urges people everywhere to keep the tradition of reading and writing. With that, he also touches on the subject of being able to freely write and freely read. Also included in this DVD are film footage of both ancient and modern-day sites, dramatizations on various topics, and the significance of certain figures with strong language connections.
